Share Your Experiences in Maine’s Outdoors
Funding from the Land for Maine’s Future program has conserved more than 600,000 acres in the state. Maine’s 80+ land trusts offer opportunities to explore more than 500,000 acres, with opportunities in all sixteen counties. And local, state, and federal agencies manage more than 1.3 million acres of conservation land. In total, Maine people and visitors enjoy more than two million acres in the form of parks, land trust preserves, wildlife areas, and other public lands. Collectively, these natural places are available to the public for hiking, hunting, fishing, birdwatching, snowmobiling, and a wide range of other outdoor recreational activities.
