Loon Echo Land Trust’s 2,064-acre Pleasant Mountain Preserve includes the highest mountain in southern Maine and one of the defining landmarks of the Sebago Lake region. Pleasant Mountain is a destination for hikers, birdwatchers, snowmobilers, hunters, and skiers, and it provides important contiguous habitat for a variety of plants and animals, as well as resources for sustainable forestry. Between 2009 and 2010, the Land for Maine’s Future Board supported the acquisition of 411 acres of the Pleasant Mountain Preserve.
